When I die if you need to weep
Cry for your brother or sister
Walking the street beside you
And when you need me put your arms around anyone
And give them what you need to give me.
I want to leave you something
Something better than words or sounds.
Look for me in the people I’ve known or loved
And if you cannot give me away
At least let me live in your eyes and not on your mind.
You can love me most by letting hands touch hands
By letting bodies touch bodies
And by letting go of children that need to be free.
Love doesn’t die, people do
So when all that’s left of me is love
Give me away.
I found out on Saturday that a friend from college died of a heart attack on Saturday. To say I was numb is an understatement. He was a genuine, happy, healthy, 25 year old guy who had the rest of his life in front of him. So senseless. We often take our lives for granted when we’re young; we feel invinceable. This is a sincere reminder to appreciate all that you have.
Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence (Robert Frost)
Wait Chapel, Wake Forest
What school ranks as more rigorous that Yale, Princeton and Harvard?
My alma-mater. Yep.
“Wake Forest: Where your best hasn’t been good enough since 1834.”
Mascots are essential characters in college sports. They get crowds pumped. They harass opponents. They terrify the unprepared and the weak in spirit…Well, some of them do.
oh come on! the demon deacon isn’t creepy, he’s adorable! it may be a weird mascot, but it’s definitely not creepy….right?
My dad sent me this story last night and I had to share it. This story exemplifies Wake Forest and what it means to be a Demon Deacon. So proud of my alma mater.
